Service interruptions can occur for several reasons. Although not a complete list, below are some more common reasons for service interruptions:
- Schedule Maintenance & Upgrade: We perform routine maintenance and equipment upgrades in order to continue providing quality service to our customers. This work cannot be completed while our systems are running which means customers will temporarily experience a service interruption on their Internet, phone and/or TV service until the maintenance is complete.
- Power Outage: If your electricity goes out, your services most likely will also be disrupted. However, Rainbow phone and Internet modems are equipped with an 8-hour battery backup that is intended to use in emergency situations.
- Storm Damage: It’s possible that your service equipment may get damaged during a storm due to lightning strikes. In this instance, you will need to contact us so that we can repair or replace the damaged equipment. Using a power surge protection can help eliminate costly damage to Rainbow’s equipment and your personal electrical equipment such as TVs, computers, charging laptops, etc.
- Cut Line: From time to time, one of our service lines will get cut due to unexpected situations that are out of our control. This can include damage done by storms, animals or unauthorized digging. IMPORTANT! To avoid cutting utility lines, injury, potential fines and repair costs, always call 811 before digging in your yard. An 811 representative will notify each affected local utility companies (electric, gas, phone, Internet, etc.) who will come and flag all buried lines.
- Non-Pay Disconnect Customers: who fail to pay their bill by the due date will be disconnected for non-payment.
